Agriculture is the backbone of most West African economies, providing livelihoods for millions. However, despite its critical role, food insecurity remains a significant challenge due to factors such as climate change, land degradation, inadequate infrastructure, and economic instability. Many communities suffer from malnutrition, limited access to nutritious food, and dependence on expensive imports.
At FECCIWA, we believe that food is a basic human right. Our food security campaign focuses on promoting sustainable agricultural practices, empowering smallholder farmers, and advocating for policies that support food sovereignty. Through initiatives such as “Grow what you eat – Eat what you grow,” we encourage communities to embrace locally grown food and reduce dependence on imported goods.
